Golden Pumpkin Spice Latte

Happy Sunday, everyone! In this week’s addition to 3 Morning Drinks to Fuel You Through Fall, I’m bringing you a classic pumpkin-y drink with a little twist. While pumpkin spice everything is all the rage these days, I wanted to combine this fall favorite with another one of my go-to drinks, golden milk.

The benefits of this turmeric-packed specialty are truly mind blowing, plus it tastes so nourishing and delicious, you’ll wish fall would stick around all year long.

Turmeric is one of the best additions to your daily morning drink thanks to its powerful medicinal properties. It’s filled with anti-inflammatory compounds and antioxidants that boost brain function, minimize joint pain, reduce cancer risk and even fight depression. But don’t let forget about the pumpkin, of course. Not only is it the most festive ingredient in this and most any recipe, but it’s also packed with health benefits as well. Pumpkin is particularly rich in vitamin A and antioxidants to support your immune system, promote eye and heart health and ward off cancer.

Ingredients
  •  1 ½ cups nut or oat milk of choice
  •  2 tbsp maple syrup
  •  3 tbsp pumpkin puree
  •  1 tsp pumpkin spice + more to sprinkle on top
  •  â…” tsp ground turmeric
  •  pinch of black pepper

 

Directions
Add all ingredients to a small sauce pan over medium heat. Whisk completely.
Allow to warm for several minutes.
For more foam, pour mixture into your high speed blender, and blend for 30 seconds OR whisk mixture with a handheld frother.
Pour into a mug, and top with a sprinkle of pumpkin spice.
