Healthy Buffalo Chicken Dip

recipes snacks Jan 31, 2022

The Super Bowl is right around the corner, and I’m always looking for a new recipe to bring to the party. As a hot sauce lover through and through, anything buffalo is right up my alley. So this year, take those classic chicken wings to the next level with this Healthy Buffalo Chicken Dip!

And before we get into it, don’t forget to check out many of my other game day-ready recipes in my Recipe Round Up: Healthy Super Bowl Snacks blog post.

Not only is it super tasty (I have my husband HOOKED), but it also only required a few simple ingredients. This is definitely one of those recipes that you can make for all of your guests, and they’d never guess it uses clean ingredients.

To make this even easier, you’ll use cooked chicken – I used rotisserie to save me the time of doing it myself (plus, it’s always super flavorful). I usually snag mine at Whole Foods and look for an organic, free range version to make sure I’m getting the highest quality without hormones or antibiotics.

As for hot sauce to give this dip some kick, you can really use whatever brand you love the most! I used Frank’s because I love the flavor and it has jut enough spice without being too overpowering.

For some added creaminess (and to help combine everything together), mayo is just the thing. I always recommend you using an avocado oil-based variety like Primal Kitchen and Chosen Foods.

Just mix these few ingredients up with some spices like garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt and pepper for extra flavor. Bake it up to get bubbly and warm before serving it alongside crackers, chips or veggies.

I can tell ya that you and your guests will love this for game day or really any time you want to serve something fun, tasty AND healthy at your next get-together!

 YIELDS6 Servings

Ingredients
  •  2 ½ cups cooked chicken, chopped (I used rotisserie)
  •  ½ cup hot sauce (I used Frank's)
  •  ½ cup mayo (I recommend using an avocado oil-based brand)
  •  ½ tsp garlic powder
  •  ½ tsp smoked paprika
  •  ½ tsp onion powder
  •  ¼ tsp black pepper
  •  pinch of salt (not much - most hot sauce already has salt included)
  •  parsley or chives to top, finely chopped
  •  crackers, chips or veggies to dip

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Add chicken, hot sauce, mayo, and spices to a bowl. Mix to combine completely.
Pour into a small casserole dish, and spread into an even layer.
Bake for 20 minutes, until dip is hot and bubbling.
Allow to cool slightly before topping with parsley or chives. Serve with crackers, chips, veggies, etc.

Enjoy!
