Salted Maple Chai Latte

breakfast drinks recipes Nov 09, 2019

Even here in Austin, I can no longer deny that fall is in full swing. And with the cooler weather and shorter days comes the need (not want) for all the cozy drinks. So I’m thrilled to be partnering up with my favorite nut milk brand, GoodMylk, to share 3 Morning Drinks to Fuel You Through Fall over the next few weeks!

First up is this creamy Salted Maple Chai Latte for a fall-inspired twist on the salted caramel we all love. One sip, and you’ll likely want to whip up this simple yet delicious drink any time of day!

While Starbucks chai tea lattes were once a favorite of mine, I was disappointed when I realized how many chemicals and added sugars are found in the chai concentrate. But fear not! This classic, cozy drink is incredibly easy to whip up at home with much more nutritious ingredients than you’ll find at most any coffee shop.

In both this recipe and any drink you make, I can’t stress enough the importance of choosing your milk wisely. If you have the time and want to get ambitious, you can always make your own nut milk (check out my recipe here), but lately I’ve been relying on GoodMylk Co.’s Hemp Mylk, because it’s convenient, high quality and super tasty. Snag their ready-to-drink packs (all you have to do is thaw!) or concentrates to dilute in water.

With so many nut and alternative milk options out there these days, it can be difficult to know where to begin; I completely understand. Personally, I look for brands with minimal, organic ingredients that are free from chemical fillers, binders and preservatives, and GoodMylk hits all of those marks! It’s truly like making your own without the hassle. A win-win in my book  .

Simply heat up the hemp milk with steeped chai tea (any brand you love works great), spices, maple syrup and a little salt. For more of that foamy goodness, whiz up the mixture in your high speed blender or use a handheld frother.

With these few fall-inspired ingredients, you’ll have yourself a barista-quality latte without the junk you don’t need. I’ll cheers to that!
